The story of Abed’s Oud song

If, after listening, you’re in the mood for more oud sounds and orchestral music, why not take a look at the Syriab Band’s Facebook page?
Abed Oud played at a discussion event on interreligious dialogue between Muslims, Jews and Christians in Erfurt. The oud is the predecessor of our European lute, which originated in Persia.
That’s how we got to know him. Abed comes from Idlib in Syria and plays this plucked instrument in the Hamburg Syriab Band, among others.
In the piece you are listening to, he plays a Syrian oud that has travelled a long way. With the help of many friends, it was transported from Damascus via Beirut and Berlin to Abed in Hamburg.
